International Students - Introduction
The Holme Park Experience takes place at Kilgraston School, an exclusive private school set in 54 acres of rolling parkland within easy reach of Edinburgh, Scotland’s historic and cosmopolitan capital city. The school’s location makes it a perfect environment for the safe education of younger students. All the necessary fire, health and safety and child protection procedures are in place and checked regularly by the relevant services. Holme Park is a member of ABLS (the Association of British Language Schools). All member schools are accredited by one of the British Government accreditation bodies.
For the younger student, aged between 8-14 years, we provide superb opportunities to learn English in a highly structured and closely supervised environment with fully qualified staff. Our programme enables students to improve their English, while participating in a host of fabulous activities and enjoying themselves in a friendly, safe atmosphere.
Since 1997 we have hosted children from Russian, Venezuela, Japan, the Czech Republic, Poland, Germany, Italy, Egypt, Libya, China, Spain, Turkey and France. Such a mixture of nationalities gives students of all countries a chance to form international friendships and to develop an early understanding of, and interest in, cultures other than their own, as well as developing their English ability.
Holme Park is small and very personal. We therefore feel that for younger students from overseas we can offer a very friendly, family-like atmosphere which helps them to settle and feel at home very quickly.
Our aims are very simple:
- To make our international guests feel welcome and at home.
- To give them a great action-packed holiday with the chance to improve their English in the most natural way: through play and interaction with native speakers.
- To return home happy, content and with their English skills and confidence much more secure than when they arrived!
